Shipbuilding Coordinator

Job Purpose
The Site Coordinator at MSC Cruises is responsible for ensuring the construction and outfitting of related areas comply with international regulations, ship's contract, and technical specifications. This role involves inspecting the quality of materials used and identifying discrepancies within approved projects.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure areas under described disciplines (steel, paint, piping & HVAC) are built within set timescales and in line with approved architectural design, contractual requirements, and functional requisites.
Attend daily inspections related to steel & hull, safety insulation, coating and painting, and HVAC and piping, ensuring construction requirements are respected as guided by ship's technical specification and yard builder standards.
Ensure all materials used are compliant and in scope with specifications and of suitable quality fit for intended use, approved by class and relevant authorities.
Follow installation and outfitting of all relevant areas, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all activities and inspections.
Attend project meetings with Yard representative and prepare related MOMs and progress reports.
Qualifications (Skills, Competencies, Experience)
Fluency in English and Polish. Knowledge of Italian or French is a plus.
A Degree relevant to shipbuilding or equivalent qualification or significant relevant experience is required.
Substantial experience with delivering inspections of hull & steel, safety, painting, HVAC and piping applied on ship's building and or refitting projects or onboard cruise vessels in operations.
Good knowledge of SOLAS, IACT47, VSP and Shipsan manuals (construction and operations).
Experience in a leadership position might be beneficial.
Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office (including Excel, MS Word, MS Project or equivalent and PowerPoint).
Familiarity with Marine Rules and International Standards and Regulations.
Ability to review new building specifications and drawings and to read and understand a variety of engineering drawings.
Good analytical skills, attention to detail and a 'can do' attitude.
Availability to work long hours under pressure and over the weekend when required.
Frequent travelling may be involved.
Team working.
VISA Requirements (if any)
Right to work in Poland and the ability to travel around Europe.
