Job Summary
Elysium Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our team at The Avalon Centre. As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a vital role in creating a stimulating and engaging environment for our service users, who have acquired brain injuries. Your primary responsibility will be to design and deliver activity-based programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our service users.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate social and recreational activities for service users within a secure environment, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Obtain information from service users regarding their social and recreational interests, and use this information to develop personalized activity plans.
- Monitor and report on the behavior, ability, and response of service users, providing regular updates to the multidisciplinary team.
- Document observations and progress in service users' clinical notes, under the supervision of senior staff.
- Fulfill security requirements and adhere to service policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Conduct basic risk assessments on a daily basis to ensure the safety of service users and staff.
- Ensure that health and safety, welfare, and security standards are maintained for service users, staff, and visitors.
- Utilize effective coordination and resource management skills to deliver high-quality activities.
Requirements
- Basic group work skills and the ability to communicate effectively within a team-based framework.
- Minimum of 12 months' experience in a mental health setting (desirable).
- Initiative, motivation, and a solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Awareness of mental health and its impact on functioning, as well as cultural and gender-specific needs.
- Full UK driving license.
