Job Title: Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Aurora Fairway School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our children and young people with complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, and other anxiety-related needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and adjust learning activities as agreed with the teacher, reinforcing learning concepts and supporting students' academic and personal growth.
  • Support learning by arranging and providing resources for lessons and activities under the direction of the teacher or a more senior TA.
  • Under the guidance of a more senior TA or teacher, implement learning activities and experiences, aiming to support students in achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.
Requirements:
  • GCSE pass above C (or 4 in the new GCSE system) in English and Maths.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, including SEMH, ASD, and other complex needs.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviour that challenges.
  • Experience working within education is advantageous.
  • Experience of working within a multi-cultural, inclusive setting.
