About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Pastoral Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Central London Secondary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with the school's SEND team to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure comprehensive care and support for students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Provide first aid and level 1 counselling as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of classroom resources and annual review planning.

Learning Activities:

  • Implement tailored support programs under professional guidance.
  • Create and deliver engaging learning activities to promote student progress.
  • Support teachers in evaluating pupil progress through assessment activities.
  • Select and prepare resources for learning activities considering pupils' interests and backgrounds.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils to support their learning.
