SHEQ Advisor Role Overview

The SHEQ Advisor will play a vital role in providing expert guidance on the management of health, safety, and environmental matters within Hertfordshire. This position requires strong leadership skills to promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Site Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular site inspections and audits for employees and subcontractors to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  2. Expert Guidance: Offer advice on various specialist areas, including risk assessments, fire safety, CDM regulations, hazardous materials, noise control, and machinery safety.
  3. Support to Operational Teams: Collaborate with operational teams to enhance and maintain management systems and practices related to health, safety, and environmental matters.
  4. Coordination with External Organizations: Coordinate with external organizations such as the Health and Safety Executive, clients, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and cooperation.
  5. Incident Management: Assist with the management and investigation of incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  6. Safety Training and Briefings: Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and deliver training on health, safety, and environmental risks to promote a safety-first culture.
  7. New Employee Onboarding: Provide onboarding and induction training to new employees and operatives to ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe working environment.

Salary: £50,000
