About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Lawyer to join our Group Corporate & Treasury Legal team at Barclays. As a key member of our team, you will play a leading role in providing professional advice and efficient legal business partnering to our core clients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure that transactional processes are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and help the bank manage legal and reputational risks associated with these activities.
  2. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal counsel, credit risk management, and other departments, to ensure that transactions are executed in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Create, review, negotiate, and manage legal documents such as loan agreements, security documents, and other transactional documents, to ensure execution in a timely and efficient manner.
  4. Develop and implement transaction processes and procedures to ensure that transactions are executed consistently.
  5. Pro-actively identify, communicate, and provide legal advice on applicable laws, rules, and regulations (LRRs). Ensure that LRRs are effectively allocated to, and adequately reflected within, the relevant policies, standards, and controls.
  6. Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  7. Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of English company law and matters relating to an ESCC (Commercial Company (equity shares)). You will also need to be able to demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
