Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Lawyer to join our Group Corporate & Treasury Legal team at Barclays Bank UK PLC. As a key member of our team, you will provide professional advice and efficient legal business partnering to our core clients, including Corporate Secretariat, Finance, Investor Relations, Treasury, and Risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice on corporate advisory matters, including UK Companies Act, Disclosure and Transparency Rules, Listing Rules, and UK Market Abuse Regulation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal counsel, credit risk management, and other departments, to ensure timely and efficient execution of transactions.
  • Develop and implement transaction processes and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Pro-actively identify, communicate, and provide legal advice on applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and ensure effective allocation of these to relevant policies, standards, and controls.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work to contribute to achieving business goals and objectives.
  • Seek out, build, and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish key business objectives.
Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer with experience of corporate advisory and UK Companies Act, Disclosure and Transparency Rules, Listing Rules, and UK Market Abuse Regulation.
  • Ability to interact with senior stakeholders and present advice in a succinct and solution-oriented manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the organisation's functions and ability to contribute to achieving business goals and objectives.
