Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the senior buying and product development team to develop and launch new product ranges.
  • Manage sub-categories, ensuring the successful launch of seasonal newness and ongoing product development.
  • Collaborate with the design team to write product briefs and submit them to suppliers.
  • Analyze quotes and update costing sheets accurately for senior team sign-off.
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers to meet company margin requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Manage critical paths, ensuring all key dates are met.
  • Oversee sample management, including tracking, unpacking, and sending samples as required.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure samples are available for range selection and photography.
  • Resolve day-to-day queries and submit sample and pricing feedback.
  • Assist in product selection meetings at senior and director level.
  • Create new SKUs and POs on internal systems, ensuring accuracy.
  • Liaise with the design team to write packaging specifications.
  • Analyze trends, identifying market and product opportunities to optimize financial performance.
  • Attend trade shows and buying trips to suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Methodical, analytical, and organized approach.
  • Previous experience in product development or buying preferred.
  • Understanding of critical paths and seasonal range development.
  • Trend awareness and insight into competitor activity.
