Join Industry Placements at MINI Plant Oxford and embark on a 13-month placement journey in our Vehicle Validation teams. As an Automotive Test and Analysis Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the premium quality of our Pre-series vehicles and Series vehicles.

Our team is responsible for early problem detection, preventing potential failures in internal and external metrics audit, durability testing, warranty, and delivery quality. You will work closely with our specialists to support complex analysis topics across the complete vehicle, leveraging extensive measurement capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in live product builds and master the basics of CATIA V5 to perform detailed virtual analysis of Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages.
  • Support quality specialists with root cause analysis and validation activities on prototype vehicles prior to launch.
  • Contribute to the development of new functionality in VR software and grow the use of VR across Plant Oxford.
  • Prepare vehicles for testing, including pre-checks, updates, and vehicle collection and returning.
  • Support analysis of problems identified and evaluation/testing of decided solutions.
  • Vehicle diagnostics and data analysis encompassing vehicle connectivity.

Requirements:

  • Studying a Bachelor's or integrated Master's degree in an Engineering course, ideally Mechanical Engineering/Automotive/Electrical Engineering.
  • A valid UK driving license is essential for this role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong relationship building skills.
  • Previous Computer Aided Design (CAD) knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Strong PC skills and experienced with Microsoft Office.
  • Relevant work experience would be beneficial.
