Join Industry Placements at MINI Plant Oxford and embark on a 13-month placement journey in our Vehicle Validation teams. As an Automotive Test and Analysis Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the premium quality of our Pre-series vehicles and Series vehicles.

Our team is responsible for early problem detection, preventing potential failures in internal and external metrics audit, durability testing, warranty, and delivery quality. You will work closely with our specialists to support complex analysis topics across the complete vehicle, leveraging extensive measurement capabilities.

  • Participate in live product builds, gaining hands-on experience in our technical workshops and mastering the basics of CATIA V5 for detailed virtual analysis of Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages.
  • Collaborate with quality specialists to conduct root cause analysis and validation activities on prototype vehicles prior to launch.
  • Contribute to the development of new functionality in our VR software, growing its use across Plant Oxford and aiding in the training of new users.
  • Prepare vehicles for testing, including pre-checks, updates, and vehicle collection and returning post-evaluation.
  • Support the analysis of problems identified and evaluation/testing of decided solutions.
  • Conduct vehicle diagnostics and data analysis, encompassing vehicle connectivity.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Currently studying a Bachelor's or integrated Master's degree in an Engineering course, ideally Mechanical Engineering/Automotive/Electrical Engineering, and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above.
  • A valid UK driving license is essential for this role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong relationship building skills.
  • Previous Computer Aided Design (CAD) knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Strong PC skills and experienced with Microsoft Office.
  • Relevant work experience would be beneficial.

We offer a competitive annual salary of £23,650, 26 days holiday per annum (pro rata to your contract), and an attractive pension scheme. Contracted working hours are 37 hours a week, with a half day on a Friday, helping you develop a fulfilling work-life balance.
