About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Warehouse Developer and Insights Expert to join our team at Health Education and Improvement Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to work with us in shaping the future workforce of the NHS in Wales.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical development and maintenance of the HEIW Data Warehouse and reporting solutions. You will utilise all available technologies, including Power BI, DAX, and MS SQL, to support seamless access to a wide range of informatics resources and reports via the Information Portal.

You will work closely with stakeholders to scope, design, and create content that answers key business questions and provide evidence-based business intelligence solutions using a single version of the truth data platform.

The postholder will develop and deliver the HEIW Data Warehouse solution, which will be the foundation for delivering operational insights for users within Health Education Improvement Wales and other stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining the HEIW Data Warehouse and reporting solutions.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to scope, design, and create content that answers key business questions.
  • Providing evidence-based business intelligence solutions using a single version of the truth data platform.
  • Developing and delivering the HEIW Data Warehouse solution.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a relevant topic area (e.g., computing, informatics, mathematics) or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of further development and/or education and training.
  • Specialist knowledge of information requirements and standards within a healthcare/social care environment.
  • Advanced IT and analytical and statistical skills and experience with knowledge of IT tools such as, MS SQL, SSIS, Power BI, DAX.

Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) is the strategic workforce body for NHS Wales with statutory functions that include education and training, workforce planning, workforce development, and transformation. Our purpose is to develop a workforce that delivers excellent care to patients/service users and excellent population health.
