Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant Hepatologist to join our team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. As a key member of our Gastroenterology and Hepatology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing specialist hepatology services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of liver diseases
  • Participating in a rota for out-of-hours emergency endoscopy and weekend cover for Gastroenterology and Hepatology patients
  • Contributing to the development of our services, including clinical governance, education, and research
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Broad training and experience in Gastroenterology and General Medicine
  • JAG accreditation or equivalent in diagnostic upper and lower GI endoscopy
  • 12 month Hepatology ATP post (with minimum 3 month experience in a liver transplant centre)
