Contract Personnel Limited is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Home Registered Manager to join their team.

Job Purpose:

  1. To provide leadership and direction to deliver positive outcomes for children and young people across all areas of their development, achieving this by managing the home as a whole, utilizing all resources to create a positive, inclusive environment where children and young people can thrive.
  2. To build and lead a team of trauma-informed practitioners who meet the needs of young people who may have experienced multiple placement breakdowns, fostering an environment that promotes resilience and growth.

To ensure that staff deliver sensitive and effective care to the children and young people in the home, aligning with Contract Personnel Limited's values, legislation, policies, and procedures outlined in the Statement of Purpose.

Responsibilities:

  • To oversee the management of sound childcare practices, ensuring high professional standards are maintained within available resources.
  • To manage a home that meets, respects, and affirms children's physical, emotional, identity, cultural, religious, and educational needs in accordance with their plans for care.
  • To work effectively with Ofsted and within regulations to ensure the home delivers the highest standard of care.
  • To lead a team that encourages children and young people to develop a positive sense of self and individual identity.
  • To contribute to the evaluation and management of risk and the protection of young people from harm, including providing a safe and stimulating living environment and teaching children and young people to become 'risk competent'.
  • To manage challenging behaviour in accordance with legislative and organisational policy and practice requirements.
  • To build networks of support with professionals, including police, social workers, mental health support workers, educationalists, Commissioners, and LA decision makers.
  • To deliver services within a children's rights framework and support the team in understanding, respecting, and actively promoting children's rights and their right to participate in the decisions in their lives and the running of their home.
  • To ensure that the service works with professionals around the young people placed to build robust plans to support the placement while the young person experiences crisis.
  • To provide management oversight and support during safeguarding incidents and respond to incidents with clear action plans.
  • To work in partnership with young people, their family and friends, colleagues, and other agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people, including supporting young people to express their views in all forums.
  • To contribute to the management and development of residential services as a member of the Care Management team.

Managing Resources:

  • To oversee and contribute to the effective and efficient use of physical and financial resources in compliance with financial and other procedures and regulations.
  • To contribute to the efficient deployment of staff through effective rota management and ensuring systems are maintained in respect of monitoring annual leave, sickness absence, training, and other related matters.
  • To contribute to identifying and reviewing the training and development needs of staff.
  • To manage performance-related issues as required and in accordance with policy.
  • To take responsibility for own learning and professional development through participation in Children's Home Manager meetings, reflective supervision, and undertaking training.
  • To promote and enforce Health and Safety and risk management policies and maintain safe working practices for self and others.
  • To work with other services to ensure they are given the right resources, skills, and knowledge to work effectively and resiliently with the young people placed.

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
