Highway Maintenance Supervisor

We're seeking a skilled Supervisor to join our Transportation team in Yeovil, supporting Somerset County Council's road network. As a key member of our Reactive Works team, you'll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Reactive Works Manager in programming, managing, and delivering routine and severe weather services, ensuring compliance with program and maintenance requirement plans.
- Supervise daily work allocations, resources, and emergency responses, organizing remedial repairs, site inductions, briefings, and toolbox talks.
- Promote health and safety in the workplace, setting a good example for other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general health and safety responsibilities.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and emergency services as required, communicating with the Fleet/Transport Manager to ensure vehicle and plant maintenance is up-to-date.
- Lead and motivate teams successfully, with experience working within the highways industry, including knowledge of network operations and scheme delivery.
- Hold an SSSTS or higher, drive, and hold a full driving license.
- Effective communication with a range of stakeholders.
