Opportunity for a Senior Social Work Professional

The Royal Borough of Greenwich seeks a highly experienced and skilled Deputy Principal Social Worker to lead and manage a team focused on delivering outstanding adult social care services. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in adult social care, including management and supervisory roles. They will have a strong understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act, and be able to influence, mentor, and manage a team to drive excellence in social work practice. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with operational managers and teams.

As a champion of strength-based practice, the successful candidate will promote a culture of continuous improvement and be responsible for operationalising an effective approach to quality assurance. They will also support the development of Social Work, occupational therapists, and social care career pathways through continuing professional development opportunities.

This role offers a competitive salary of approximately £64,000 per annum, along with generous leave entitlement (up to 31 days per year), flexible working options, access to professional development and career progression opportunities, and a supportive work environment that values diversity and inclusion.
