We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As an Assistant Cost Accountant, you will play a key role in the control, maintenance, and development of the Patient Level Costing system.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Head of Costing in the collection, formatting, validation, and inputting of activity and cost data to ensure accurate and timely production of Trust costs.
- Support the submission of the Trust's National Cost Collection, meeting NHSE deadlines and ensuring compliance with NHSE costing guidance.
- Develop an understanding of the Trust's services in conjunction with the Head of Costing, Divisions, and Divisional Accountancy teams to produce meaningful costs at various levels of granularity.
- Collaborate with the Head of Costing to develop, maintain, and update a suite of costing and efficiency reports in various formats, supporting training to ensure these reports benefit the Trust's decision-making processes.

Requirements- 5 GCSEs level 4 or equivalent, including Maths and English.
- Part-qualified AAT or equivalent finance qualification at NVQ level 3.
- AAT full qualification or equivalent finance qualification at NVQ level 4 (L4).
- AAT full qualification or equivalent NVQ level 4.
- Actively studying towards a CCAB qualification.
- Degree-level education.
- Excellent IT skills, specifically intermediate spreadsheet techniques.
- Proven ability to prioritize workload.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including preparation and presentation of financial information.
- Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate initiative.
- Good understanding of current NHS issues.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial information.
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel at advanced level techniques.
