Job Opportunity: Estimator or Senior Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Estimator or Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team at https://www.energyjobline.com/sitemap. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing, processing, and submitting tenders for contracts by calculating the costs involved in supplying a product or service that meets the client's technical specification.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and coordinate information for bids and tenders within designated areas.
  2. Research materials, equipment, and labor costs.
  3. Gain an understanding of the client's needs.
  4. Collect quotes from suppliers and sub-contractors.
  5. Plan job timescales.
  6. Assess and advise on commercial risk.
  7. Prepare and submit quotations for work.
  8. Support bids for new contracts and buying activities.
  9. Monitor project stages to ensure costs are in line with forecasts.
  10. Clearly convey financial elements of a tender to site staff at tender handover.
  11. Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies and company procedures.
  12. Contribute to review and input on quality submissions.
Requirements:

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and presentation skills, good commercial awareness, and problem-solving skills. You should also have strong numerical and analytical skills and be able to pay close attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating in civil engineering, with experience of projects similar to highways, earthworks, and infrastructure. You should also have sound knowledge of spreadsheets and other estimating packages.
