About the Job
AWE Plc is currently recruiting for a Senior Safety Engineer to join its Mechanical Safety Team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of engineering safety are met and maintained.

This role involves working closely with other teams to ensure that all engineering activities are carried out safely and efficiently. You will be required to assess and manage risks associated with engineering activities, develop and implement safety procedures, and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in maintaining mechanical building services, HVAC systems, and industrial gas systems. You will also have knowledge of relevant British Standards and Industry Standards, as well as experience in reviewing suitability of Mechanical safe systems of work for maintenance delivery by AWE and contract personnel.

You will also be responsible for reviewing legislative records pertaining to engineering safety, providing advice on the safe and effective implementation of engineering safety, and having oversight of supply chain's specialist contractors application of engineering safety when delivering tasks.

The salary for this role is £47,690 - £70,000 per annum, depending on your qualifications and experience. You will also be entitled to a 9-day working fortnight, which allows for every other Friday off work, in addition to 270 hours of annual leave.
