About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Coding Team Lead to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our coding team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of clinical coding data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely clinical coding of patient data, adhering to national coding standards and local clinical coding policies.
  • Collect, collate, and code complex clinical information, covering a wide range of specialties.
  • Maintain high-quality work standards, meeting productivity targets and deadlines.
  • Liaise with line managers and senior colleagues to resolve coding ambiguities and improve clinical documentation.
  • Act as a mentor to coders and trainees, providing guidance and support to ensure the development of coding skills.
  • Participate in team meetings, sharing knowledge and best practices to improve coding efficiency and data quality.
Requirements
  • National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) and relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • IT proficiency, with experience of coding software and systems.
