Staff Nurse/Midwife Role

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a compassionate and motivated Staff Nurse or Midwife to join our neonatal team. Our purpose-built unit offers excellent facilities and family accommodation.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to vulnerable infants and their families. This will involve prioritizing a demanding workload, utilizing resources efficiently, and driving forward evidence-based practice.

We are a Level 2 neonatal unit caring for approximately 500 babies per year, providing intensive care, high dependency care, and special care. Our team is committed to family-centred care, involving parents in all aspects of care.

We offer a robust 4-week induction and a supportive training programme to help you settle into the environment. Professional development is actively promoted, with an expectation to undertake and pass the Foundation Course in Neonatal Care and Neonatal Intensive Care course.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure efficient and effective utilization of resources to deliver optimum quality care to their client group.
  • To help drive forward evidence-based practice in line with national guidance to enhance the care we deliver to these vulnerable infants and their families.
