Deputy Head of School for Science and Technology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head of School to join our team. As a key member of the College Management Group, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of our School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Professional.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Head of School in communicating policies and procedures to staff, ensuring high-quality delivery and compliance with expectations.
- Focus on improving program outcomes, with a clear emphasis on securing high grades, enhancing teaching, learning, and assessment, and supporting the teaching team.
- Monitor and support the teaching team, ensuring all students have opportunities to develop employability skills through work experience and other work-related learning activities.
- Support student progression to Higher Education, with a strong understanding of apprenticeships and engineering.
- Collaborate with subject/courses requiring improvement, identifying interventions and executing effective solutions.
- Proven experience in leadership and management, with a strong record of good student outcomes.
- Excellent teaching and/or pastoral skills, with knowledge of awarding bodies, Ofsted, QAA, and other relevant organizations.
- Strong understanding of Government policy context for the curriculum, with awareness of future developments influencing the curriculum.
- Excellent knowledge of the local and regional economy, with a thorough understanding of evidence-based teaching, learning, and assessment.
