About the Role

UCL Eastman Dental Institute is seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join our team in the field of protein metrology. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for conducting detailed and precise measurements on proteins using cyclic ion mobility mass spectrometry (cIM-MS) and crosslinking mass spectrometry (XL-MS). Your expertise will be essential in developing robust and repeatable protocols for protein analysis, and in collaborating with our EU collaborative network to advance the field of protein metrology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed and precise measurements on proteins using cIM-MS and XL-MS
  • Develop robust and repeatable protocols for protein analysis
  • Collaborate with our EU collaborative network to advance the field of protein metrology
  • Contribute to the development of a metrology framework that defines the protein measurand, analytical targets, and their influence on measurement uncertainty
Requirements
  • PhD in mass spectrometry or a relevant subject area
  • Proven knowledge of the theory and applications of mass and ion mobility mass spectrometry
  • Experience in using the cyclic ion mobility mass spectrometer
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
