We are seeking a skilled Health Assessor to join our team at Canada Life Limited. As a Health Assessor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and fairness of our Protection customers' Health Declarations.
Key Responsibilities- Complete Protection customers' Health Declarations in a timely, accurate, and customer-focused manner.
- Follow agreed processes to ensure fair outcomes for customers and compliance with governance requirements.
- Challenge existing processes in a professional, clear, and logical way, and support process improvements that benefit customers.
- Work cohesively with team members to achieve service excellence for Protection customers.
- Prepare and issue standard and non-standard customer terms using provided templates.
- Request medical evidence from customers and third parties, as needed.
- Provide information and undertake tasks in response to customer requests or product/company requirements.
- Manage queries in the team mailbox within 48 hours.
- Investigate and resolve complaints and queries, in line with divisional and regulatory procedures.
- Experience working in a Medical Underwriting Team, making accurate assessments of individual risk from Health Declarations.
- Able to underwrite Health Declarations for multiple Protection product lines.
- Understanding of underwriting manuals and processes.
- Understanding of Protection products requiring underwriting input.
- Maintains underwriting knowledge with industry and market changes.
- Inquisitive and customer-centric approach, with the ability to think outside the norm and challenge existing processes.
- Ability to communicate with all types of customers and contribute to a team delivering service excellence.
- Able to work to deadlines and manage own workload, prioritizing cases when required.
- GR1 or other industry-recognized qualification (desired).
