Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Grid Connection Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will play a critical role in building our portfolio of battery energy storage projects, from initial design to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grid Connection Strategy
    • Develop and implement grid connection strategies for new projects, ensuring compliance with transmission and distribution grid codes.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather intelligence on existing and future electricity network updates.
  • Connection Applications
    • Prepare and submit connection applications to DNOs/TOs, ensuring seamless engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Manage the transition of projects from development to construction.
  • Due Diligence and Technical Evaluation
    • Support due diligence activities on acquired projects, reviewing transmission and distribution grid connection offers.
    • Assess site suitability, including fault level contributions and grid code compliance.
  • Pre-Construction and Construction Engineering
    • Manage pre-construction engineering activities, including technical evaluation of sites and coordination with the grid development team.
    • Coordinate with contractors to ensure technical RFI's are closed-out swiftly and accurately.
    • Support the testing and commissioning phase of projects, ensuring safe energisation, commissioning, and handover to Asset Operations.
Requirements
  • Electrical Engineering Degree
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical or grid-oriented role.
  • Commercial Mindset
    • Good understanding of grid connections and the project development process.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Understanding of G99 end-to-end process and pre-commissioning compliance process.
    • Appreciation of Grid Code and CUSC requirements.
  • Soft Skills
    • Pragmatic and proactive approach to quality management.
