**Job Opportunity:** Academic and Personal Care Assistant - SEN & SEND Support

**Location:** Redbridge

**Hours:** Full-time/Part-timeContract Type: Temporary - Ongoing

We are seeking a compassionate and patient Support Assistant to work with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Disabilities (SEND). As a Support Assistant, you will provide academic support, personal care, and emotional support to students, ensuring they feel included and supported in all aspects of college life.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Academic Support:** Assist students in the classroom, helping them to engage with lessons and activities, and provide one-to-one academic support where needed.
  • **Personal Care:** Offer assistance with personal care tasks such as mobility, toileting, dressing, and feeding, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
  • **Adapted Learning:** Work with the teaching and SEND teams to modify learning resources and create an accessible environment that meets the needs of individual students.
  • **Emotional Support:** Build trusting relationships with students, offering encouragement and understanding to help them overcome challenges and reach their goals.
  • **Collaboration:** Work closely with teachers, SENCO, therapists, and families to ensure students receive holistic care and support that meets their academic and personal needs.

**Requirements:**

  • GCSE Qualifications
  • Experience in supporting students with SEN and SEND in an educational or care setting.
  • Compassionate and Patient: A caring approach and the ability to remain calm and positive in a variety of situations.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to assist with both academic tasks and personal care, ensuring the well-being of students at all times.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Able to effectively communicate with students, staff, and parents, adapting to the needs of each individual.
