About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Clinical Lead to join our team at NHS Blood and Transplant. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing the paediatric and neonatal organ donation strategy across the UK.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of organ donation and transplantation in the UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert professional advice to specialist nurses, negotiating and influencing stakeholders to ensure good quality clinical care, and commissioning research to improve organ donation rates.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a national paediatric and neonatal organ donation strategy that complements the organisational and transplantation strategy across the UK
  • Provide expert professional advice to all specialist nurses in Organ Donation and Transplantation across the UK as a visible and credible expert role model
  • Negotiate and influence stakeholders to ensure there are appropriate systems, guidance and processes in place to deliver good quality clinical care through the implementation of national standards of practice
  • Commission and lead research to improve organ donation, transplantation and utilisation rates from the paediatric and neonatal population

Requirements

  • Evidence of commitment to Organ Donation and transplantation
  • Thorough understanding of issues affecting Paediatric and Neonatal Organ Donation
  • Awareness of current professional development within Paediatric and Neonatal Nursing in the NHS
  • Experience of implementing effective change within team/across an organisation
  • Relevant recognised post graduate Nursing registration (NMC) such as critical care or paediatric nursing (NMC registration must be maintained)

What We Offer

In return for your expertise and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including comprehensive training and development opportunities, and a generous pension scheme.
