Job Summary

This is a critical role that will play a pivotal part in the future success of saving and improving lives through organ donation and transplantation.

As the Lead Nurse for Paediatric and Neonatal Organ Donation and Transplantation, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement a national strategy that complements the organisational and transplantation strategy across the UK.

You will be responsible for providing expert professional advice to specialist nurses in Organ Donation and Transplantation, working with key stakeholders to negotiate and influence change, and commissioning research to improve organ donation and transplantation rates.

Main Duties of the Job

As a senior nurse and autonomous practitioner, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert professional advice to specialist nurses in Organ Donation and Transplantation
  • Working with key stakeholders to negotiate and influence change
  • Developing and implementing a national paediatric and neonatal organ donation strategy
  • Commissioning research to improve organ donation and transplantation rates

About You

Experience and Knowledge

  • Evidence of commitment to Organ Donation and transplantation
  • Thorough understanding of issues affecting Paediatric and Neonatal Organ Donation
  • Awareness of current professional development within Paediatric and Neonatal Nursing in the NHS
  • Experience of implementing effective change within a team or across an organisation

Qualifications and Training

  • Relevant recognised postgraduate Nursing registration (NMC)
  • Teaching qualification or teaching experience in area of expertise
  • Possession of a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in an allied health-related field
