Community Policing Officer

We are committed to keeping our communities safe and preventing harm. As a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), you will play a critical role in helping us achieve this goal.
Job Description:A PCSO is the face of local policing for the community, ensuring we meet our policing priorities. You will work closely with community, religious and business leaders to build relationships and address community challenges. This will involve working with young people and local schools, making house visits to gather intelligence, collecting CCTV evidence, protecting crime scenes, providing crime prevention and personal safety advice, and offering support at large public gatherings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- You must be aged 17 at date of application, but 18 before starting the role.
- You must have lived in the UK for three continuous years immediately prior to application.
- You must have leave to enter or remain and work in the UK for an indefinite period.
- You must have obtained and be able to evidence GCSE Maths and English grade A*-C/9-4 or a Level 2 equivalent.
- You must have a full UK manual driving licence by the time of appointment.
- You must not be a member of the British National Party (BNP) or other relevant organisations.
- You must not have tattoos which could cause offence.
- You must not have more than six penalty points.
- You must not have served a prison sentence.
- Starting salary of £27,747 plus unsocial hours shift allowance of approximately £6,146.
- Fully-funded professional qualification – Level 4 Diploma in Community Policing Practice.
- 8 Public Holiday days per year.
