About the Role:

The Clinical and Protecting Health Directorate at Public Health Scotland is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Healthcare Scientist Advanced to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting the people of Scotland from infectious and environmental hazards, enabling high-quality clinical and public health knowledge, research, and innovation, and changing clinical and public health practice by using audits at a national and local level.

About the Organisation:

Public Health Scotland is a national health board that launched on 1st April 2020, employing around 1200 people, and with an annual budget of around £101 million. The organisation aims to see a Scotland where everybody thrives, a Scotland where life expectancy improves, and the difference in life expectancy between our poorest and wealthiest areas gets smaller. To achieve this, they use data, intelligence, and a place-based approach to lead and deliver Scotland's public health priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

The Healthcare Scientist Advanced will be responsible for:
  • Protecting the people of Scotland from infectious and environmental hazards
  • Enabling high-quality clinical and public health knowledge, research, and innovation
  • Changing clinical and public health practice by using audits at a national and local level

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in healthcare science and a passion for public health. They will be highly motivated, dynamic, and able to work effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
