About the Role

The Clinical and Protecting Health Directorate at Public Health Scotland is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Healthcare Scientist Advanced to contribute to PHS intelligence surveillance, research and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with clinical, scientific, and analytical staff to contribute to PHS intelligence surveillance, research and development opportunities.
  • Lead a small team of Healthcare Scientists and identify opportunities for innovative use and analyses of a wide range of surveillance data.
  • Collaborate with policy makers and public health/health protection service providers and stakeholders across all sectors in Scotland and beyond.
  • Develop and implement enhanced surveillance programs for respiratory pathogens, including Community Acute Respiratory Infections (CARI).
Requirements
  • Highly motivated and dynamic individual with a strong background in healthcare science and research.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to lead a small team and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
