About the Role:
Public Health Scotland is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Healthcare Scientist Advanced to contribute to intelligence surveillance, research, and development opportunities. The post-holder will work closely with clinical, scientific, and analytical staff to lead a small team of Healthcare Scientists and identify opportunities for innovative use and analyses of surveillance data.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement enhanced surveillance programs for respiratory pathogens
• Collaborate with policy makers and public health/health protection service providers
• Analyze and interpret surveillance data to inform public health decisions
• Lead a small team of Healthcare Scientists and provide guidance on data analysis and interpretation
• Identify opportunities for innovative use and analyses of surveillance data

Location and Working Pattern:
The post is full-time permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday. PHS is currently hybrid working, with the option to work from home. The post will be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh, with an expectation to travel to local areas for meetings and events.
