Residential Childcare Worker

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Worker to join our team at Tameside Council. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with additional needs arising from their disability.
About the Role
The Residential Childcare Worker will be responsible for providing person-centred support, ensuring that the children receive an excellent standard of care, and supporting them to live full and active lives. The ideal candidate will have a professional approach, an understanding of the needs of people with disabilities, and experience of working in a person-centred manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical person-centred support to children and young people with additional needs.
- Ensure that the children receive an excellent standard of care and support them to live full and active lives.
- Work in a flexible manner, including morning, evening, weekend, sleep-in duty, night shifts, and bank holiday work.
- Undertake shift leader duties as required after the necessary period of experience within the home.
Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Excellent written, communication, and basic IT skills.
- Ability to work in a team and maintain confidentiality.
