About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Learning Disability and Neurodiversity MHST Team Lead to join our team at Barnardo's. As a key member of our Mental Health Support Team (MHST), you will play a vital role in providing emotional wellbeing and mental health services for children and young people in Solihull.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of evidence-based services and the mental health agenda within schools.
  • Work in partnership with the school community and other wellbeing services to develop a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing.
  • Provide consultation to schools on mental health and wellbeing, and deliver training and workshops for schools and parents.
  • Individual and group interventions for children and young people experiencing difficulties with managing emotions.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years experience working with children and young people in a mental health setting.
  • Experience working with children and young people who have learning disability or neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Fully qualified clinician, e.g., Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, Counsellor, Social Worker, LD Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychotherapist.
  • Experience in working with families and in educational/community settings.
