GSL Education seeks a dedicated Learning Support Specialist in Poole to provide exceptional support to students with special educational needs.

Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day, depending on experience.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to deliver individualised support plans, promoting academic and personal growth among students.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored one-on-one and group support to students, adapting assistance to meet their unique needs.
  • Contribute to lesson planning and delivery, focusing on inclusive education practices that foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, maintaining open communication with the teaching team.
  • Develop and implement effective individualised support plans to enhance student development.
  • Cultivate a safe and nurturing atmosphere, encouraging positive interactions and participation among students.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers, providing updates on student progress.

Your Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience as a SEN Support Worker or similar role within an educational setting is preferred.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students who require additional support are essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for building strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A relevant qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent is required.
  • An understanding of various SEN strategies and approaches, along with a commitment to continuous professional development, is highly valued.
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom settings and work with a range of learning needs is crucial.
