Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer - Equipment Expert to join our client's team. As a Service Engineer - Equipment Expert, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support and service to customers via phone and site visits.

Your primary goal will be to maximize equipment uptime and productivity while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide phone support to address technical issues within contract-defined response times (e.g., 1 hour).
  • Visit customer sites to troubleshoot, repair equipment, and meet response times (e.g., same-day or next-day).
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) per schedules and corporate standards.
  • Install upgrades to ensure instrument performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Support instrument installation, decommissioning, and laboratory system interfacing.
  • Handle technical hotline support, assist customers, and create/dispatch work orders.
  • Manage a small U.K. parts stock, including inventory control, shipping, and replenishment.
Requirements:

To be successful as a Service Engineer - Equipment Expert, you should have a Bachelor's degree or appropriate HNC/HND. A minimum of 2 years' experience as a field service engineer in a medical laboratory environment is also required.

Immunoassay experience is desirable but not essential. Experience with robotics, industrial print, or liquid handling would also be considered an advantage.

Benefits:

This role offers a competitive base salary up to £47,000 depending on experience level, plus a bonus up to 10% of base salary. You will also receive a company car, pension scheme with employer contributions up to 12%, and 25 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
