Job Overview

We are seeking an Associate Project Manager - Business Unit Support to provide world-class support to our stakeholders by partnering with the PMO to support the delivery of customer-contract technology programs and internal projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers to support the planning, delivery, and execution of strategic projects and programs. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and partnership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of projects through coordination, documentation, and tracking of actions, issues, risks, and decisions.
  • Prepare, audit, and monitor projects in the gating life cycle to ensure process adherence.
  • Partner with PMs to forecast, track, and report project financials.
  • Compile weekly updates, monthly reports, and portfolio metrics for project/program status, relevant project information, and governance gathered from multiple sources.
  • Maintain the PMO document repository and process library.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, document, and distribute minutes and project information.
  • Ensure projects and programs adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Collaborate with PMO teammates to grow within the role and adhere to common techniques and practices.
  • Collaborate across the organization to gather relevant information needed to support projects.
  • Champion the project management methodology, processes, and tools across the organization.
  • Manage small-scope/low complexity projects as called upon.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working as a project coordinator, administrator, Jr. PM, or similar role within a PMO.
  • Strong knowledge of the project management life cycle, methodology, and processes.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplined technical teams.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Expertise in documentation, presentation, and project management tools required.
  • Expertise in MS Office tools: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, and Project.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across Verra Mobility.
