Our client, a leading manufacturing company in the North East, is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environmental Officer to join their team on a 9-month contract.

The Role

  • Lead the problem-solving aspect of the HSE function, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Develop and implement fire prevention strategies to minimize risks.
  • Manage asbestos-related hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Implement manual handling controls to prevent injuries.
  • Conduct LOLER and PUWER inspections, servicing, and examinations to ensure equipment safety.
  • Drive continual improvement projects to enhance the company's safety culture.
  • Develop and implement contractor management procedures to ensure safe working practices.
  • Design and deliver health and safety inductions and toolbox talks to educate employees on safety protocols.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Must be a self-motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Proven experience in environmental, health, and safety management in a similar organization.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legal obligations and regulations.
  • Experience with risk assessment and NEBOSH certification.
