About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team at HMP Winchester, a category B adult male local prison. As a key member of our Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs to ensure the prison's electrical systems are functioning correctly.
  • Work collaboratively with other tradespeople to maintain a safe and secure environment for prisoners and staff.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of electrical maintenance plans to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements.
Requirements
  • C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent qualifications.
  • A certificate in BS767.
  • The Requirements For Electrical Installations, 18th Edition.
  • A minimum of two years' experience working in a role as an electrician, preferably within a healthcare, military, or commercial environment.
  • An honest and conscientious character, with an ability to approach challenges in a calm manner and a positive attitude.
