Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Community Older Person's Mental Health Primary Care service in Swansea. As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in providing specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions to patients with organic and functional mental health disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a defined caseload, using evidence-based principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- Organise caseload efficiently and effectively, prioritising clinical needs and using time effectively.
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical records, reporting to others as required.
- Work in partnership with clients, carers, and stakeholders to identify relevant goals.
- Provide leadership and supervision to junior staff, as delegated by supervisor/team leader.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements.
- Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and develop skills and knowledge through the Band 6 Development Programme and other activities.
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
- Professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience of autonomous caseload management, comprising assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation within a relevant clinical area.
- Understanding of the Occupational Therapy process, with a focus on dementia and mental health.
- Broad knowledge of current best practice in Occupational Therapy with designated client groups.
- Experience of research and/or audit, and implementing evidence-based practice.
- Previous experience of supervising staff.
