TVS Supply Chain Solutions is part of Team Leidos, a team of defence and logistics specialists, supporting a major contract providing end-to-end supply chain services to the UK Ministry of Defence.

The Category Manager Assistant will work for TVS at the Team Leidos offices in Bristol, as part of a dynamic team committed to transforming the way the MOD works.

The role's purpose is to deliver a Cost Base Reduction (CBR) committed to the MOD through the development of a cost-effective, commercially-driven supply base that meets governance and availability requirements.

TVS Supply Chain Solutions operates a hybrid model, with four days of remote work and one day in the office in Bristol each week. Therefore, the successful candidate must be located within reasonable commuting distance to Bristol.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Category Manager in capturing and analyzing data on the existing supply chain, commercial markets, and potential new entrants.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining strategy plans, working with stakeholders to deliver the CBR and availability requirements.
  • Collate documentation developed by Commodity, Category, and Acquisition and Contracts Management to support tendering of Category requirements.
  • Participate in routine cross-functional efforts within CSS.
  • Assist in collaborating with stakeholders for data gathering and analysis to update Category Managers.
  • Collate document packs consolidating information for a specific category to enact and tender strategy.
  • Conduct basic supplier assessments to ensure proposed suppliers are of sound standing commercially and financially.
  • Update the Cost Base Reduction (CBR) tracker.
  • Identify suppliers with the best capability to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Assist Category Managers in collaborating with suppliers through direct engagement to communicate customer requirements and understand supplier constraints.
  • Participate in Supplier Scorecard reviews to nurture supplier relationships.
Requirements and Skills
  • Previous experience in a relevant Purchasing/Supply Chain environment.
  • Ideal education to HND/degree level in a relevant subject, MCIPS qualified or working towards, or equivalent qualification.
  • Professional and ethical approach.
  • Proven ability to persuade, influence, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels across all media.
  • Good understanding of Supply Chain Management and Procurement, including Best Practice Purchasing and Sourcing Tools and Techniques.
  • Ability to manage a dynamic workload and prioritize activities to achieve business objectives.
  • Proven ability to manage complex requirements to timely conclusion, ensuring buy-in from other functions.
  • Time management and project management skills.

The successful candidate will undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) Clearance.
