Job Overview

TVS Supply Chain Solutions UK & Europe is seeking a skilled Category Manager to join our vibrant and dynamic team. As part of Team Leidos, we provide end-to-end supply chain services to the UK Ministry of Defence, delivering commodity and inventory savings.

The successful candidate will work from our offices in Emersons Green, Bristol, and will be required to undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) Clearance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Category Manager in capturing and analysing data on the existing supply chain, commercial markets, and potential new entrants.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining strategy plans, working with stakeholders to deliver Cost Base Reduction (CBR) and availability requirements.
  • Collate documentation required to support tendering of Category requirements.
  • Participate in cross-functional efforts within CSS.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for data gathering and analysis to update Category Managers.
  • Conduct basic supplier assessments to ensure proposed suppliers are of sound standing.
  • Update the CBR tracker.
  • Identify suppliers with the best capability to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Assist Category Managers in collaborating with suppliers to communicate customer requirements and understand supplier constraints.
  • Participate in Supplier Scorecard reviews to nurture supplier relationships.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a relevant Purchasing/Supply Chain environment.
  • Ideal education to HND/degree level in a relevant subject, MCIPS qualified or working towards.
  • Professional and ethical approach.
  • Proven ability to persuade, influence, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Good understanding of Supply Chain Management and Procurement, including Best Practice Purchasing and Sourcing Tools and Techniques.
  • MS Office, Excel proficient.
  • Ability to manage a dynamic workload and prioritise activities to achieve business objectives.
  • Proven ability to manage complex requirements to timely conclusion.
