Job Title: Procurement Assistant - Supply Chain Expert

Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Assistant to join our team at 00090 Leidos Supply LTD. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our Procurement Team in achieving cost-effective procurement, storage, and distribution of commodities.

Responsibilities:

  1. To ensure that all tendering activity for the business is performed to the highest standards, conforms to PCR 2015 regulations and Leidos Policies and Procedures, maximises the full benefits of the eProcurement system, and is monitored to ensure continuous improvement with the overall aim of obtaining fully compliant outcomes against agreed Category Strategies
  2. Advise and support the Commercial, Category and Commodity teams to develop Category (tender) strategies and ensure these fully satisfy compliant requirements for tendering
  3. To work with the Commercial team and TCT line management to support their drafting of tender documents and then manage the associated tendering process using the chosen eProcurement system up to Contract Award, including placing tender notices, running the full tender process, and facilitating a compliant evaluation and Contract Award
  4. Support Commercial in agreeing appropriate and compliant terms and conditions for all tenders, based on the approved master set
  5. Prioritise own workload, and ensure that key deadlines are agreed with line management in order to support delivery in line with agreed tender issue and award dates
  6. Support, and lead where required, the Contract Approval Board (CAB)
  7. Undertake eProcurement system and team administration as required
  8. Maintain professional standards and provide expert tendering advice as well as legal/compliance support and advice to other staff, stakeholders and customers
  9. To effectively manage the tender activity within your responsibility by building strong working relationships with both contractor, customer and colleagues where necessary
  10. To actively contribute to the development of tools, processes and procedures, thereby supporting Team Leidos

Requirements:

  1. Commitment to develop knowledge and experience in all above areas, and work towards CIPS Level 4 or above
  2. Continuous improvement and personal development skills
  3. Good written and verbal communication skills
  4. Strong organisational skills
  5. Highly numerate and analytical
  6. Ability to work as a member of a small team
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  8. Good stakeholder management skills
  9. Good presentation skills
  10. Ability to prioritise and work flexibly

Desired Skills:

  1. Working knowledge of Public Sector Procurement and associated EU Regulations, and/or tender management experience
  2. Knowledge of eProcurement systems. Knowledge of MoD procurement processes

Clearance Requirements:

  1. Clearance to Start BPSS
  2. Clearance for Role BPSS
  3. Must possess or be able to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance
