As a key member of the Wright Staff team, we are seeking an experienced Maintenance Operations Lead to join our client's manufacturing facility in Newport. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of £43,000 per annum.

The role will involve carrying out maintenance activities to ensure the smooth operation of the site's processes and equipment. You will work closely with the production team to identify and resolve issues, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing maintenance plans to minimize downtime and optimize productivity
  • Leading a team of maintenance personnel to carry out routine and breakdown maintenance tasks
  • Collaborating with production staff to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and performance metrics
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and implementing changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, with experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex equipment issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with production staff and other stakeholders
  • Knowledge of lean principles and practices, with experience in implementing TPM and PPM initiatives
