About the Team

You will be joining our Advice, Guidance & Support Team, part of the Early Help and Targeted Support service within GCC's Children's Services. Community Support Coordinators assist practitioners and partners in the community who work directly with children and families. These roles do not involve case management but empower community practitioners to confidently implement an Early Help approach to address the emerging and escalating needs of children and families.

Your Responsibilities

You will collaborate with practitioners from various organizations to identify the needs and resources of children and families, agree on next steps, and follow up to ensure practitioners are equipped to lead coordinated support packages that enhance outcomes for children, young people, and their families using Gloucestershire's Graduated Pathway of Early Help.

As part of a skilled team, you will actively contribute to positive changes for children and families by facilitating timely and appropriate support. You will foster and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders from different teams, agencies, and providers in the Cotswolds locality to coordinate Early Help services that positively impact children, their families, and communities. Community Support Coordinators also develop and deliver training for practitioners and enhance their skills through a coaching and mentoring approach to share best practices in effectively meeting the emerging needs of children and families.

About You

You should have experience working with children, young people, families, and/or communities, along with a proven track record of effective partnership collaboration that demonstrates the skills and qualities necessary for successful teamwork. In addition to your experience in providing preventative services, you will possess problem-solving abilities and creativity in collaborating with partners to meet the needs of children, young people, families, and communities.

Proficiency in various IT and case management systems is essential, and you must be able to prioritize your time and workload effectively to meet deadlines.

This role will involve a blend of agile and hybrid working, including office-based activities and county-wide responsibilities determined by the organization's needs.
