Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Supply Chain team as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. The successful candidate will work closely with Suppliers and Integrated Project Teams within BAE Strategic Manufacturing's Supply Chain.
The primary focus of this role is supporting Cost management through Supplier contract reconciliation, reviewing applications for payment in accordance with agreed framework contracts on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaising with BAES stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.
- Collaborating with Senior-level Supplier stakeholders to negotiate and manage contracts.
- Resolving disputes and challenging Suppliers when necessary to maintain cost-effectiveness.
- Reviewing weekly labour reports to ensure accurate cost tracking.
- Reconciling monthly pay applications to prevent payment discrepancies.
- Addressing payment discrepancies promptly to maintain supplier relationships.
- Assessing and reviewing contract documentation related to changes to ensure compliance.
- Analyzing earned value management data and cost performance indexes to inform decision-making.
- Maintaining accurate records and cost trackers to support business intelligence.
- Understanding inflation and price variation mechanisms' impact on contract prices.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers to drive business growth.
- Adhering to BAES processes and instructions to ensure operational efficiency.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need experience in managing contracts with varying pricing types (Firm, Fixed, Cost plus, Ascertained). Additionally, you should have knowledge of Supplier cost management, earned value management, and commercial awareness.
A strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, as data analysis is frequently required. You should also possess RICS-accredited quantity survey qualification or equivalent, National Certificate level or equivalent in a technical/operational field, or relevant experience.
Security Clearance:
This role requires applicants to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to starting. A BPSS check is required as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC, be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship, and have lived and worked in the UK for at least 5 years. Estimated Salary:
£55,000 - £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus benefits.
