About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Rough Sleepers Recovery Specialist. As a key member of our Leicester City Substance Misuse Services, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who sleep rough and are at risk of sleeping rough into drug and alcohol treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with rough sleepers, providing them with support and guidance to access treatment services.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to deliver street-based outreach, drop-ins, and structured sessions within hostels and day centers.
  • Manage a small caseload of individuals, providing tailored support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Work flexibly to engage rough sleepers at times that suit them, including early morning outreach and evening/weekend working.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A passion for helping individuals who sleep rough and a commitment to supporting them in their recovery journey.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with rough sleepers and work effectively with colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing circumstances.
  • A willingness to learn and develop your skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
