Job Overview

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Recovery College Outreach Worker. This exciting opportunity will enable you to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and communities across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Recovery College staff, local partners, and stakeholders to develop and establish satellite recovery colleges in local districts and build recovery networks around them. You will be responsible for engaging with communities, identifying their needs, and developing courses to meet those needs. Your expertise will be essential in promoting recovery services and signposting students to access support within our network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver courses to meet the mental and physical health needs of local communities
  • Engage with communities, GP's, statutory and non-statutory providers, partners, and agencies to identify and develop courses
  • Support Recovery College LPT volunteers to work in Recovery College hub and satellite course venues
  • Support students to navigate and utilize recovery services within their own community
  • Act as a recovery champion and ambassador for the service, promoting recovery services and signposting students to access support
  • Manage and respond to students with complex mental health needs, using your expertise and analytical skills to provide solutions and recommendations
  • Work independently, making decisions using your discretion to manage and respond to the needs of students, staff, and community
  • Act as an advisor to future development of the Recovery College, representing the views and needs of students and the wider community
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a community mental health setting, with a focus on recovery and service development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse communities and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, using your discretion to manage and respond to complex situations
  • Knowledge and experience of MS Teams and virtual media platforms, with the ability to support tutors and students to facilitate online sessions
  • Knowledge and experience of Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) communication platforms
