Job Overview

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Outreach Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality services to our communities.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Recovery College staff, local partners, and stakeholders to develop and establish satellite recovery colleges in Leicestershire, Leicester, and Rutland districts. They will be responsible for building recovery networks, engaging with communities, and identifying courses that meet the mental and physical health needs of the community.

The Outreach Worker will also support students to navigate and utilize recovery services within their own community, act as a recovery champion, and establish a position of ambassador of recovery accessible within the community. They will be required to work in various locations throughout the Leicestershire, Leicester, and Rutland areas, managing and responding to students with a range of mental health diagnoses and complex personal presentations.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex and sensitive information with empathy and reassurance. They will also have in-depth knowledge and experience of MS Teams/virtual media platforms, as well as Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) communication platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and establish satellite recovery colleges in Leicestershire, Leicester, and Rutland districts
  • Build recovery networks and engage with communities to identify courses that meet the mental and physical health needs of the community
  • Support students to navigate and utilize recovery services within their own community
  • Act as a recovery champion and establish a position of ambassador of recovery accessible within the community
  • Manage and respond to students with a range of mental health diagnoses and complex personal presentations
