Job Overview

Stride is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental (SHE) Advisor to lead our SHE initiatives. This role involves overseeing the safe planning, delivery, and review of complex construction and maintenance projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with SHE policies, standards, and legislation, and promoting a positive SHE culture within the organization.

Responsibilities
  1. Key Accountabilities
  2. Evaluate and maintain relevant qualifications, such as NEBOSH Construction or equivalent diploma.
  3. Pursue experience in the construction industry, focusing on residential construction or Tier 1 contracting.
  4. Work towards achieving membership in a professional body and progressing towards Chartered status.
Main Duties
  1. Comply with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM Regulations).
  2. Develop and implement policies to minimize risk and promote a positive SHE culture.
  3. Promote Stride's SHE approach through site visits and meetings.
  4. Support the implementation of the ActivSHEQ database and other SHE standards.
  5. Conduct regular site SHE reviews.
  6. Provide guidance and training on safety, health, and environmental matters.
  7. Investigate and report SHE incidents, ensuring recommendations are implemented.
  8. Maintain effective communication with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
