About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Investment Risk Specialist to join our Portfolio Risk team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and transparency of our investment decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of investment portfolios, identifying and assessing risks through data-driven insights and statistical methods.
  • Develop and implement robust risk management frameworks, collaborating closely with investment teams to optimize portfolio construction and risk management strategies.
  • Support the development and implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)-related risk assessments and reporting, analyzing ESG-related risks and interpreting relevant data.
  • Monitor market trends and regulatory changes, ensuring compliance and mitigating potential risks, thereby safeguarding our clients' investments.
  • Present regular reports and presentations to senior management and clients, effectively communicating complex risk management information.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-6 years of experience in investment risk or performance analysis, preferably in a quantitative field.
  • A degree in a quantitative discipline, such as mathematics, statistics, or physics.
  • Strong proficiency in statistical analysis, including data modeling, hypothesis testing, and confidence interval estimation.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial instruments and market dynamics, including derivatives, equities, and fixed-income securities.
  • Demonstratable programming skills, preferably in languages like Python or VBA.
  • Experience with risk management tools and software, such as StatPro, BarraOne, or FactSet.
  • A relevant professional qualification, such as the FRM or CFA, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure.

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary package, estimated at around £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
